Discrete-event simulator and evaluation of BGP delayed convergence : Developed a Discrete-event engine to manage the inter-router communication and simulate time. All routers implemented within single UNIX process. Implemented in C++ (on UNIX platform ) using STL based on OOPM concepts .
BGP speaking router: Developed an OO policy-based BGP routing framework using STLs in C++. Each router was simulated using a Unix process which communicated using the TCP/IP sockets.
Real-World techniques in Network Administration - An empirical Observation: Configured, implemented and studied 1>Intra-AS BGP routing oscillations 2> some real ISP techniques, namely Blackhole, Sinkhole and Traceback 3> Flow Behavior, Isolation and Service Differentiation in TCP. Technologies/Tools used: Cisco 7000 and 4000 series Routers, Cisco IOS, Zebra toolkit, packit, iperf, tcptrace, iptables, shell scripting and apache web server.
DNS client for both direct and reverse lookups that interacts with real DNS servers: Designed and imp lamented application level standalone DNS client using UDP socket programming in C++ involving iterative lookup. |

Motion Based Segmentation of Video: Designed and implemented Motion Based Segmentation of macroblocks of a video clip using VC++ which applies brute force method to match macroblocks of adjacent frames and assigns a color to each macroblock depending upon the direction of motion resulting in a segmented video. |
|
JPEG Compression Developed a pseudo JPEG Compressor Decompressor in VC++. |

Databases |
Geotechnical Information System : Designed ,implemented and tested a "XML to Relational Converter" in which the front end Java client was connected the Postgresql database using JDBC. Also populated Geotechnical data by parsing XML file parser into SQL insert statements using XSL and XALAN XML while SQL3 was used for querying it. |
|
XQuery – Quering XML pages : Queried an XML data file using XQuery format. The queries were specified as FLWOR and/or PATH expressions. These queries are then executed using Qexo, an XQuery program written in Java. |
