There
is a very simple technique for the mind to get complete rest...
Spread
a blanket (aasan) in a clean & solitary place & lie down on it. Stretch
your body to the maximum that you can do. Let all the parts of the body, right
from the toe to the head, get exercised. Stretch in a way that every single part
of the body gets fulfilling exercise. The way cats & dogs extend themselves
to full length while stretching, in the same way for about 2 & 1/2 minutes
you stretch your body completely by spreading your hands & legs. The nerves,
arteries & veins which were not functioning will also become active.
After
2 to 2.5 minutes stop stretching. Let the whole body get relaxed. Keep lying
very peacefully. Take the tip of the tongue out of the mouth & press it
slightly with the teeth. Close your lips. Press the index finger against the
thumb for each hand. In this position you are doing the Shava aasan in the
Jnayan Mudra & Vishranti Mudra. After sometime if you feel uncomfortable in
keeping the position of fingers & the tongue as described above, then you
can release them. Spread your hands & knees in a naturally comfortable
position. Give complete rest to your body & mind.
Do
not entangle your mind in the chains of any kind of thoughts. Let the mind
become worry-less. If still any thought comes to your mind, become an observant
& keep coming back to thought-less state. Keep observing the process of
breathing. Keep feeling that you are getting complete rest in the God who is
always present inside you (Antaryaami Ram).
Right
now you have no responsibilities. There are no worries. You are getting complete
rest. Let the mind become pure in this state of divine peace.
This
technique is capable of removing all kinds of shortcomings & evils. It
results in the development of pure & good thoughts & keeping good
health.

What is Bhajan?
Pujya
Bapuji says:
Works done with the mind engrossed in the Lord, or those actions that cause
divine modification of the mind, are called Bhajan.
Shabari, a Bhil (tribal) woman, simply swept the ground but
she did it with the spirit of participating in the divine work of God and the
Sadguru. The woman sweeping the public road is merely doing her occupational
job. The mother sweeps the floor of the house, or even other members of the
family do work in the house, these activities constitute service. But when even
a menial job like sweeping the floor is done for the sake of God, it constitutes
Bhajan. Thus sweeping of the floor at the Guru’s ashram by Shabari is Bhajan.
‘That which infuses divine delecation is Bhajan.’
The
action that exudes devotional memory and love, together with Divine delectation,
is Bhajan.

What
is meant by Sumiran? Should it be done with eyes closed or
open?
Pujya
Bapuji says:
Sumiran is done with neither closed nor open eyes. Sumiran is done by
remembering. Remembrance with the Knowledge of Truth is called
Sumiran.
You
see an electric lamp, an amplifier, a refrigerator, an electric iron, a motor
pump – all these instruments are different, but they all function on the supply
of the same electric power. There may be different makes of fans, but the power
running them is one and same. A heater heats the water, a refrigerator cools it;
but both are operated by the same electricity. Similarly, some people spread the
soothing coolness of virtue, while the sinners exude the heat of atrocity; but
the Truth remains that both have the source of their strength in the very same
Lord, the beloved friend of all beings. To constantly keep this fact in one’s
mind is called Sumiran.
TECHNIQUES TO CONTROL
ANGER
Lust, greed, attachment,
pride and anger are the inner enemies that rob you of the treasure of
Self-bliss. Among all, anger is the most dangerous and detrimental to sadhana.
If the fire of anger overtakes our mind, our entire treasures of JAPAS, TAPAS
and virtues are destroyed. Therefore, beware of anger. It is all right to act
out anger, but be alert not to allow it to possess
you.
Techniques:
Do not eat hurriedly. Take at least 25 minutes to eat and chew your food
properly. If you find it difficult to ward off anger, press your tips of the
fingers into your palms making a fist. Eat SATTVIC food. Stay away from garlic,
red chillies and fried foods.
HEALTHY HEALTH
TIPS
For
High Blood Pressure
Soak
one raisin (kishmish)
overnight in pure rose water. Eat it empty stomach the next day. Soak 2 raisins
on the second day, 3 raisins on the third day & keep on increasing the
number for 21 days. That means one should soak 21 raisins on the 21st day. If
you do not get pure rose water, then prepare it at home by boiling 1 kg of
rose petals (desi
gulab) in 1 liter of water & then filtering it using a fine
cloth. To make sure that high blood pressure is cured permanently, one should
repeat this course again after a month.
For
Low Blood Pressure
One
should say the mantra "Hari Aum..." several times at a fast speed. One should
read satsang books that helps one get rid of depression. Whenever one feels low,
then one should fight back the negative thoughts with the powerful positive
energy of "Hari Aum...".

GEMS
FROM GURU BHAKTI YOGA
- Knowledge
of Brahman is very subtle. Therefore guidance of an enlightened Guru is
necessary to dispel all the doubts arising in the sadhak’s
mind.
- It
is impossible to attain intuitional Self-knowledge even for very intelligent
sadhak without the grace of a mighty Guru.
- One
may read all the books of philosophy, one may travel all over the world giving
lectures to the people, one may practise penances for several thousand years in
Himalayan caves, but one cannot attain self-Knowledge without having grace of
Guru.
